Tracey, P., Week 2

The second week of this class, we went on three field trips, two of which I was able to attend. I was able to attend the New York Wine and Culinary Center, as well as Community Broadcasters, LLC. On Thursday we treated with a special visit from retired professor Philip Hurdle.

The field trip to Canandaigua was excellent because not only was the view beautiful but so was the culinary center. We learned all about their non for profit programs which included cooking classes and wine tours. The tour we were given was excellent, as the host did a great job explaining what exactly they do.

The next day we went to Community Broadcasters, LLC here in Elmira. There we learned about the radio business and how marketing concepts are used in their platform. This field trip was interesting because the host discussed how radio will keep bringing in younger people while maintaining the target market they already had.

On Thursday the class was treated to a visit from former professor Philip Hurdle. During his visit he discussed networking and how having a strong base is key for a marketing team.

In other news non related to this class, my softball team Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch picked up win this week!
